AkitaBox, Inc. (“AkitaBox,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, retain, and disclose your Personal Information when operating our business, including when you access and use the AkitaBox website, akitabox.com (the “Site”), and when you use or obtain any of our products or services, including our mobile and desktop applications (collectively, the “Services”).

The Purposes for Which We Use Your Personal Information

We use your Personal Information to operate and improve our Site and Services and to protect your rights and our rights. This may include the following business purposes:

To Communicate With You

We use your Personal Information to respond to service requests and provide our customer service. We also respond to any other questions, comments, and requests for feedback, or we may contact you about administrative matters, such as changes to this Policy, the Terms of Service, or other policies. If you interact with us using an online chat or live video chat feature (such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams), we may retain your chat transcripts to direct you to the appropriate internal team and to help us deliver our Services to you or your organization.

We share your Personal Information with service providers to perform business functions and to help provide our Site and Services, including hosting and storage providers, our online chat provider, and payment processors. We engage with service providers to assist with our online chat or live video chat features (such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams). We may store transcripts of these chats using our service providers.

Advertising and Analytics Partners

We may share your Personal Information with third-party online advertising and analytics providers, including by permitting these partners to collect Personal Information from you directly from our Site to provide analytics, session replay, and targeted advertising services.

Professional Advisors

We may share your Personal Information with our professional advisors, such as our attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and business advisors, in their capacity as advisors to us.

Law Enforcement and Government Entities (or Others for Administrative or Legal Proceedings)

We may share Personal Information about you if we reasonably believe that disclosing the Personal Information is needed to comply with any valid legal process, governmental request, or applicable law, rule, or regulation; investigate, remedy, or enforce potential violations of our Terms of Service; or protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, our customers, our employees or others.

Tracking Technologies; Targeted Advertising and Analytics

How We Use Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, session replay software, web beacons, pixels and other tracking technologies (collectively “Tracking Technologies”) when you use the Site or Services. Cookies are small text files that are sent to your browser from a website’s computers and stored on your computer or device. When you visit the website again, the cookie allows that website to recognize your browser. Cookies may store unique identifiers, user preferences, and other information. We and our analytics and advertising partners use Tracking Technologies to collect information about your activity, browser, and device when you visit our Site or use our Services.

Targeted Advertising and Analytics

Our advertising partners may use Personal Information collected from our Site and Services and other sources to deliver advertisements on our behalf, targeted to your interests and preferences, whether on our Site or on other websites or applications you may visit.

Google Analytics and Its Advertising Features. Google Analytics is a third-party service that transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. We have enabled and implemented Google Analytics and the following advertising features: DoubleClick and Dynamic Remarketing. To opt-out of the use of this data by Google Analytics, you can follow the instructions to download and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for each web browser you use. Using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On will not prevent us from using other analytics tools and will not prevent data from being sent to us or to Google. Opting out will not affect your use of the Site or Services. Meta Custom Audiences (and Meta Pixel). We use the remarketing services of Meta, Inc (“Meta” or “Facebook”) with our Site and Services. We use Meta Custom Audiences, which includes the Meta Pixel, to deliver targeted advertisements to visitors of the Site across those Meta owned social media platforms based on email addresses that we have collected. Session Replay: Hotjar, DataDog. We have implemented and use session replay software services offered by Hotjar and DataDog. The session replay software allows us and these third parties to collect information about how you navigate and use our Site or Services in real-time, including the date and time you visited our Site or Services, mouse clicks, mouse movements, keystrokes and text input, scrolling, webpage or content loading times, and site errors. Other Personal Information this technology collects includes IP addresses, browser information, device IDs, operating system, and cookie and customer IDs.

NextRoll. We use NextRoll’s AdRoll services, including the AdRoll Pixel and Roundtrip to provide you with targeted advertising and to measure and enhance our advertising practices. When you visit our Services, NextRoll may collect your email address (if you provide it to us), your device information, IP address, non-precise location data, browser data, and advertising history. HubSpot Analytics. We use HubSpot Analytics, a web analytics service provided by HubSpot, Inc. that uses cookies and beacons to track how long users are on the Site or Services, what marketing pages they visit, what marketing offers they respond to. LinkedIn Analytics. We use LinkedIn Analytics to enable us to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns served on LinkedIn. The information collected by the LinkedIn Analytics cookie will be transmitted directly to and stored by LinkedIn. Disabling Cookies and Ad Tracking on Your Device

AkitaBox participates in social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube that enable online sharing and collaboration among users. Anything you post on our social media pages is public information and will not be treated confidentially. We may post (or re-post) anything you post on our social media pages on the Site, Services, and our social media pages. Your use of social media is governed by the privacy policies and terms of use of the third parties that own and operate those websites and not by this Policy. We encourage you to review those policies and terms.

YouTube. We may use the YouTube application programming interface (API) Services to allow you to access YouTube content from our Site and Services. Your use of YouTube is governed by YouTube’s terms of service and privacy policy and not by our Terms of Service or this Policy. Children’s Data

Our Site and Services are only intended for individuals over the age of 18. We do not under any circumstances knowingly collect, sell, or share information from children under the age of 16. Children under the age of 16 are prohibited from submitting any Personal Information to us. Your Canadian Privacy Rights

Right to Deletion. You have a right to request that we delete Personal Information we collected from you. We will comply with such requests, and direct our service providers to do the same, subject to certain exceptions permitted by applicable law.

Right to Restrict. You have a right to direct us to cease disseminating your Personal Information or to de-index any hyperlink attached to your name that provides access to the information by a technological means, if the dissemination of the information contravenes the law or a court order.

Right to Data Portability. You may request copies of the Personal Information you have provided to us. Where possible, we will deliver the copy of your Personal Information to you using a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. Alternatively, you may request that we send your Personal Information to another business.

In order to verify your request, you must provide sufficient information to allow us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected Personal Information, and you must describe your request with sufficient detail to allow us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to your request. When we receive your request to exercise your rights under applicable law: (a) we will acknowledge receipt of your request; (b) we will try to match the information you provide in making the request with information we already maintain about you; (c) if required to verify your identity, we may ask you to provide additional information, including Personal Information; (d) we will consider various factors when determining how to verify your identity, such as the sensitivity and value of the data, the risk of harm, the likelihood of fraud, etc.

We will only use Personal Information we collect during the verification process for the purpose of verifying your identity and fulfilling your request. If you maintain an account with us, we may use that account to respond to your request and/or verify your identity. If we are unable to verify your identity as required by applicable laws and regulations, we will decline to comply with your request and let you know why.

Data Transfers Outside of Canada or Outside of Quebec

We are an international software and services company based in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. In connection with the operation of our Site and our Services, we may share and/or transfer your Personal Information, including with service providers, outside of Canada and/or Quebec, including to the United States.

When we transfer your Personal Information outside of Canada or Quebec, your Personal Information may be available to government officials in locations where the Personal Information is transferred. These countries have privacy laws that differ from Canadian privacy laws.

This Policy may be provided in several languages for the convenience of our customers and users of our Services. In the event of conflict or inconsistency, the English language version of this Policy controls, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
